A Personal Commitment to Excellence

Dr. Dodick is the youngest of five boys, all of whom became professionals. He has always relished a challenge, and has always striven to be the best at everything he does, especially ophthalmology. He fought hard to be recognized as one of the best ophthalmologists in New York City, a major accomplishment.

But he did not do it alone. When he came to New York University, he recruited bright young talent and empowered them to make a difference in the department and in the profession. It is in part the collegiate atmosphere that makes NYU Department of Ophthalmology so special. By working together, the physicians and staff help one another to ensure the best possible training for residents and the best care for patients.

To ensure that NYU remains at the forefront of the profession, he has also helped to establish an ophthalmologic research center at the college.
